2021 was a good year for the growth of Google’s TV operating system. The company reports that Android TV and Google TV users have surpassed 110 million, up from 80 million reported in May. This means that 30 million more active monthly devices have been added in seven months.

A Google spokesperson confirmed the updated numbers in a statement to Google from 9 to 5.

Some of Google’s most popular products include TCL’s Android TV operating system models which reportedly sell 10 million units per year and Chromecast with Google TV. Google previously reported that US adoption has grown by more than 80%.

Google’s main competitors are Roku and Amazon Fire TV, household names in the world of streaming devices. Roku was recently named the best Smart TV OS in the US for the second consecutive year.
