4. PayTech Firm Checkout.com announces a Series D mega round of funding
Payment company Checkout.com has closed a $ 1 billion Series D funding round, valuing it at $ 40 billion.
The firm, whose clients include Farfetch, Pizza Hut, Netflix and Shein, has raised a total of $ 1.8 billion to date.
Major players in the D Series round include Altimeter, Dragoneer, Franklin Templeton, GIC, Insight Partners, Qatar Investment Authority, Tiger Global, and Oxford Endowment Fund.
Many of the company’s existing supporters also attended.
The money will be used in three key areas: growing the US market, launching a solution on the markets and strengthening its position in the Web3 space.
5. JD.com launches ochama robotics stores in the Netherlands
Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com has opened two automation-based ochama stores in the Netherlands.
These are robots that prepare parcels and home delivery service.
Ochama’s first two collection stores are located in Leiden and Rotterdam, with two more opening in Amsterdam (Diemen) and Utrecht.
