The world has been tied to Wordle since its launch in November 2020. Now Google has joined the Wordle mania as well.
The tech giant surprised fans of the word puzzle game when a special feature appeared on its search engine. Whenever a user searches for “Wordle”, Google displays a creative animation in the left corner of the search page.
Various words like GOALIE and COLUMN start to appear, mimicking the Wordle pattern. The text color turns green when “GOOGLE” is displayed.
The California-based company has received a lot of love from Wordle fans for its simple, yet thoughtful feature.

When you search Wordle on @Google Pretty neat! https://t.co/JV1ZqhvDHx
– Navneet Nair (@navneetdesigns) 1643003442000 The original Wordle game only had 90 daily players in November last year. It has now surpassed 3 million players per day and is growing rapidly via various social media platforms.
Wordle is like a crossword puzzle and can only be played once a day. Every 24 hours there is a new word of the day and it’s up to you to understand it. Wordle offers players six chances to guess a randomly selected five-letter word.
If you have the right letter in the right place, it is displayed in green. A correct letter in the wrong place is displayed in yellow. A letter that is not in the word at any point appears gray. You can enter a total of six words.
The browser-based word puzzle game, created by Brooklyn-based software engineer Josh Wardle, has been a meteoric rise since launch.
The name of the game is a pun on the creator’s last name. Wardle initially created this game for his puzzle-loving partner.
Recently, Wardle and Steven Cravotta, who is behind the similar Wordle! app, hands joined to give back to society.
