Many Gmail users are reporting the new glitch on social media. According to customers, it creates random tasks throughout the day on their Google Calendar depending on the emails they receive in Gmail.

According to Google Reports, the issue creates events in Google Calendar based on random marketing emails and newsletters received via Gmail. Many users also noted that the issue seemed to produce events even for emails they hadn’t yet opened in Gmail.

As a result, multiple people on Twitter reported the issue and posted images of random events created in Google Calendar.

According to the evaluations, there is no obvious pattern of how events form. However, it is possible that emails that include the date in their text are causing the problem. It’s also adding events to the calendar that reference the in-mail date. Meanwhile, Google has not provided any updates or notifications about the new flaw.

How to temporarily fix the Gmail bug While it’s not clear what caused the problem, customers experiencing issues can fix it temporarily until Google releases a permanent fix for the Google Calendar-Gmail problem.

To solve the problem

Go to the Google Calendar settings page. “Automatically add events from Gmail to my calendar” should be turned off.
