Location summary:
Under the supervision and/or direction of the Director of Nursing/Clinical Lead, the Resource Nurse or Staff Nurse performs technical monitoring duties and functions as unit secretary. Responsible for ensuring a professional atmosphere in the care unit. You demonstrate good public relations skills while interacting with doctors, patients, visitors and other hospital staff. Greet, direct, and provide non-professional factual information to patients and other department staff. Critical to the success of patient and physician satisfaction.
Qualifications/Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Licenses/certifications required
Current BLS/CPR
Skills and abilities
Good oral and written communication skills in English.
Bilingual an advantage.
Medical terminology.
Experience
Moderately advanced knowledge of ECG rhythms; knowledge of 12-lead ECG preferred.
Previous experience as a monitor technician preferred.
