Thiruvananthapuram – The route and timing of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) services are included in Google Maps.

City loop services in Thiruvananthapuram have been added on a trial basis. This would be available on public transport in Google Maps. Once the destination has been entered, the information will be immediately available.

After the city loop bus information is fully included, the details of long-distance services such as SWIFT services would be pulled into Google Maps. The decision is to later add the routes of all KSRTC buses on Google Maps.

The circular buses of Thiruvananthapuram city have been arranged in colors like magenta, yellow, green, orange and red. These have been included in Google Maps as commuters have had difficulty identifying the routes of these services as they run around the city.

Once GPS in buses is operational, commuters will be able to find out the location of the bus from Google Maps, according to Biju Prabhakar, transportation secretary and chairman and chief executive officer (CMD) of the KSRTC.

After this is also implemented in SWIFT services, commuters can avoid the hassle of showing up early at the bus stop and waiting for long-distance services.
