The Economic Development Administration (EDA) recently issued a Request for Information (RFI) on the Regional Technology and Innovation Hub (Tech Hubs) program. The RFI will assist the agency in gathering information from stakeholders to inform the design and administration of awards for Tech Hub designation, planning and implementation.
The RFI includes questions from the EDA on the characteristics of Tech Hubs, program design, funding and support, and program administration. Respondents go beyond answering these questions and are encouraged to provide additional insights or information they believe will improve and strengthen the program.
The comment period for RFI closes on 16 March 2023.
Tech Hubs was cleared as a $10 billion program under the CHIPS and Science Act and received a $500 million allocation in the FY 2023 budget. In a recent press release, US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo he described the program as a way to “better ensure America remains at the forefront of developing and delivering critical emerging technologies.”
