Xiaomi, the Chinese multinational electronics company, has joined Amazon to unveil its first smart TV in India, powered by the Fire OS operating system. This partnership aims to provide Indian customers with more options and diversify Xiaomi’s product range in the country.

Xiaomi has already established a reputation in India for making smart TVs more accessible, with the Google Android TV operating system and a custom MIUI interface for TVs with an advanced content recommendation engine. The new development will allow Xiaomi to expand its offering to include a custom Fire OS, similar to what other brands like Onida and even Amazon have seen with their Amazon Basics smart TV.

The new Xiaomi Smart TV is expected to remain available exclusively on Amazon, according to a Twitter post. The company also teased the user interface, which appears to be very similar to the UI found on the latest Amazon Fire Stick and Fire Stick 4K.
