Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, near Tel Aviv, is using artificial intelligence to monitor and interact with women with cancer as they undergo chemotherapy under a breakthrough new partnership with company XOLTAR AI.
Patients will receive round-the-clock personal support tailored to their individual needs based on data analyzed by the AI. The program was developed by XOLTAR in collaboration with Wolfson’s Gynecological Oncology Department, headed by Prof. Talia Levy.
The software allows patients to hold daily video meetings via virtual consultants, during which they can discuss their physical and mental state, as well as any side effects they may experience after each course of treatment they receive.
The virtual consultants, available all day every day, also act as a link between the patient and her team of caregivers.
XOLTAR defines the project as a customizable AI-based program that will accompany patients receiving chemotherapy via interactive video conversations with our AI-powered virtual agents.
Dr. Ornit Cohen, head of innovation and research and development at Wolfson Medical Center, praised the program, which she says can help make cancer treatment more effective.
“Cancer is known to be a disease that severely affects the mental state of those affected, which then affects the immune system and well-being of patients. We believe that through the unique accompanying experience developed by XOLTAR, we can help patients undergoing chemotherapy and make their treatment more effective and reduce some of the emotional burden they have to bear.
