With the AI race rapidly heating up with new products popping up almost every day, existing ones are constantly being updated to stay relevant in a fast-moving space. After Google launched its Bard chatbot to the general public, Microsoft on Friday announced a series of updates to Bing Chat to keep up with the latest innovations and trends. Let’s take a look at them below.
New updates are highlighted by support for images in chat replies. Microsoft says that because Bing search is an inherently visual experience, it brings more of it to chat. Users will now see images appear as part of chat replies. If you ask questions about flamingos or capybaras, a picture of these animals will appear in line with your answer.
Clicking on the image will bring up an information card that allows you to view more information about their habitat, diet, life cycle and other facts. But animals aren’t the only area you’ll see these new features in. Microsoft says Bing Chat supports it across a range of topics.
In addition to this, Microsoft has redesigned the visual elements that appear at the end of text responses. Answers for shopping, weather, finance and cars will now be much more visual.

The copy and paste experience has been improved for when Bing chat generates code or other blocks of formatted text. You will now be able to directly copy and paste these blocks yourself, instead of having to select them first.
Finally, prompts now include text formatting that you can add formatting like paragraphs, bullets, or numbering.
Microsoft claims that all these features are already available to everyone.
