Comparison duel: Google Pixel 7a vs Pixel 6a

Also in this case the two cell phones seem to have the same material on paper. We still benefit from a 6.1-inch OLED panel that displays in FullHD + (2400x1080px, 429ppp). But the 7a now offers a frame refresh of up to 90Hz, up from 60Hz previously. The impression of fluidity is therefore accentuated, but not only.

Peak light reaches 774 cd/m, which is well above the Pixel 6a’s 498 cd/m. It is therefore much more pleasant to use outdoors. This is good, because the reflection rate is a bit higher (48.9% versus 47%). OLED obliges, contrast ratio is infinite and persistence zero on both. The experience will be qualitative in both cases.

The Pixel 7a benefits from exemplary calibration. Set to natural color mode, the screen displays a delta E of 1.1 and a color temperature of 6759 kelvins. The 6a’s aren’t blushing (delta E 1.8, 6923K) but the display felt a bit cooler to us. The new model maintains our lead with its 90Hz compatibility and higher brightness.
