Bellarmine University Tech Bootcamps address the growing demand for skilled tech talent

Bellarmine University offers new virtual technology bootcamps that prepare students for careers in high-demand technology fields.

The program is designed for adult learners who wish to improve or retrain. Classes meet once a week for an hour-and-a-half virtual class and continue with self-employment throughout the week. Programs include a dedicated career services team offering one-on-one mentorship, resume help, portfolio building and more. The programs are offered through a partnership with Promineo Tech, an education-as-a-service provider.

“These affordable and accessible programs offer opportunities that align with high-demand market-driven career fields,” said Abigail Walsh, director of the Bellarmine Center for Community and Professional Education. “Our goal is to provide participants with tools that will grab the attention of potential employers and help them find a job.”

Walsh noted that the bootcamps align with the university’s new strategic vision, Bellarmine Forward, designed to ensure all students are career-ready upon graduation.

“The rapid economic change in recent years has created a huge demand among those who want to retrain,” said Nick Suwyn, founder of Promineo Tech. “These bootcamps are a great opportunity to enhance the acceleration workforce within Kentucky, especially in the increasingly in-demand field of technology. We are excited to work with Bellarmine University to achieve this goal.”

Bootcamps offered include Front End Software Development (18 weeks), Back End Development (18 weeks), Big Data Engineering (26 weeks), and Digital Marketing (16 weeks). Courses operate in a fully remote environment using an online learning management system and Zoom.

Upon successful completion of the program, students have the tools they need to apply to entry-level jobs within the field.
