Israeli defense company opening new innovation center in Morocco

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) will open a center for research and innovation in aeronautics and artificial intelligence at a Moroccan university.

Its new agreement with the International University of Rabat aims to strengthen cooperation and strategic partnerships between the two countries, as well as promote research, innovation, cutting-edge technology and the creation of competitive domestic technology startups.

The center will also serve as a research center to develop advanced technology products or innovative solutions for the aerospace industry.

The accord follows the Abraham Accords of September 2020, which normalized relations between Israel and Morocco.

This innovative institution is a sign of a new future being forged in Morocco for both present and future generations, said IAI Board Chairman, Amir Peretz.

The most vital mission is now to make a dream a reality by establishing a program that combines high-quality education in various fields, with a special emphasis on science and technology.

By establishing the necessary industrial infrastructure, it will be possible to recruit new graduate students, he said.

Looking into the eyes of the students, I can see their strong determination to succeed in this new center by advancing ideas that will hopefully serve not only Morocco and Israel, but the entire world as well.
