About the Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system

The Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System, offered as an option for the first time ever on an Aston Martin, centers around a 15-speaker configuration, 14-channel amplifier and cutting-edge sound processing technology.

5x 25mm Bowers & Wilkins Nautilus aluminum double dome tweeters

Located in the dashboard, doors and behind the B-pillar, Bowers & Wilkins Nautilus aluminum double-dome tweeters are derived from the iconic Bowers & Wilkins Nautilus speaker, with spiral speaker channels that absorb reflected sound from the rear of each unit tweeter drive. Resonances are minimized for an incredibly detailed and immersive listening experience, where you hear only the audio that is part of the performance.

5 Bowers & Wilkins Continuum mid-range speakers

Placed close to the tweeters, the 100mm Continuum midrange speakers represent the result of eight years of development, offering a major step forward in midrange speaker performance. The authenticity and precision in the reproduction of voices and instruments creates a truly lifelike sound throughout the DB12, for all occupants. Based on the principle of control and optimized flexibility, the woven composite construction is carefully damped to absorb unwanted resonance, resulting in a cleaner midrange sound with less unwanted noise, resulting in a more open and neutral performance.

With its beautiful silver finish, the Continuum Cone is as visually appealing as it is technologically advanced.

Tweeter-on-top technology

Tweeter-on-Top technology sees the tweeter separated from the rest of the cabinet to reduce coloration. Inside a car, it also minimizes acoustic reflection from the windshield, instead directing sound directly at the occupants. The result is improved system clarity, resulting in a more detailed, clear and natural sound. Three mounted tweeters sit proudly on the DB12’s dash complementing the highly stylized interior.

The new partnership promises to deliver a high level of performance, technology and driver engagement by extending the Aston Martin experience to the car’s audio and music, key components of the thrill of driving.

Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President & Chief Creative Officer, Aston Martin, said: “In this new dawn of our next generation sports cars, precisely crafted couture-grade interiors are key to delivering a wholly immersive, emotional and human experience. Already the pure sound of our engines gives emotions and visceral sensations. And now, with the addition of truly piercing sound delivered so clearly through the newly developed audio system, we’ve harmonized our interior designs with new innovations and technologies, so our drivers feel the energy, feel calm, feel the luxury, all at once. . Bowers and Wilkins have crafted a system that satisfies these design ambitions and ensures that it looks as amazing as it sounds. Drivers can manipulate it however they wish to create their own perfect experience.

Dan Shepherd, Vice President of Licensing and Partnerships at Bowers & Wilkins, said: “Bowers and Wilkins’ alignment with Aston Martin is only natural, as both celebrate their British heritage whilst being renowned for innovation and creation. of thrilling experiences. In addition to car audio integration, this exciting new partnership will also lead to high brand collaborations in the future. We look forward to the next chapter.
