Conglomerate Vedanta Group plans to leverage technologies developed by the startups under a partnership with the Meity-Nascomm Center of Excellence, according to a joint statement on Monday.
Vedanta Spark, the business innovation, acceleration and initiatives program of Vedanta Group, has entered into a collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Nasscom Center of Excellence (CoE) – IoT and AI, to accelerate the adoption of digitally driven innovations.
“Vedanta’s engagement with Nasscom CoE will enable innovative startups to demonstrate and develop their product in our unique ecosystem. Vedanta Spark looks forward to introducing accelerated value delivery across our operations with the primary goal of using emerging technology to find solutions that will contribute to long-term environmental, social and economic sustainability,” said Priya Agarwal Hebbar, chairman of Hindustan Zinc Limited and non-executive director of Vedanta Limited, in a statement. The partnership will explore the potential application of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT) and Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR), among others, across different Group verticals Vedanta.
“The Vedanta Spark program aims to accelerate startups by leveraging transformative and sustainable technologies to create impact at scale in collaboration with Vedanta group companies and has already engaged 80 startups for more than 120 projects so far,” the statement said.
Partnering with Nasscom CoE will also help the Vedanta Spark team optimize company-wide initiatives and processes.
