Google is adding some new features to its Bard AI chatbot, including the ability for Bard to speak its responses and respond to requests that also include images. The chatbot is now also available in most parts of the world, including the EU.

In a blog post, Google is positioning Bard’s spoken responses as a useful way to correct the pronunciation of a word or listen to a poem or screenplay. You will be able to hear spoken responses by entering a prompt and selecting the sound icon. Voice responses will be available in more than 40 languages and are available now, according to Google.

The feature that lets you add images to prompts is something Google first showed off at its I/O conference in May. In one example, Google suggested that you could use it to ask for help writing a funny caption on a picture of two dogs. Google says the feature is now available in English and will soon expand to new languages.

Google is introducing a few other new features too, including the ability to lock and rename conversations, share replies with your friends, and change the tone and style of replies you receive from Bard.

Google first opened access to Bard in March, but it was only available in the US and UK at the time. The company has since rolled out the chatbot in several other countries and now includes all EEA countries [European Economic Area] and Brazil, Google spokeswoman Jennifer Rodstrom told The Verge. Expansion into Europe is a notable milestone; Bard’s company’s planned EU launch was delayed due to privacy concerns.
