The Prideful Sloth team is no stranger to creating colorful, cozy and quaint games. Their previous Switch title, Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles, was a really nice and relaxing adventure in a non-violent world. Their quest for intimacy is far from over, as the team has officially announced its latest efforts in the form of a new sandbox life management game called Grow: Song of the Evertree.

Discover a unique and vibrant world at your own pace

Find unique places full of fantastic fauna and flora as you are encouraged to explore this beautiful world at your own pace. How do you want to spend your time? Exploring caves and solving puzzles, collecting minerals and flowers, fishing, catching insects or talking to people is up to you!

Grow your worlds!

Learn to create the seeds of the world through alchemy to generate totally new worlds with unique characteristics. Heal those worlds to rejuvenate them and see how they change and see how new properties emerge before your eyes! You can spawn unique meadows, deserts, frozen worlds and oh well alchemy is not an exact science, some seeds can contain unexpected surprises.

Meet new people and create a community!

Get to know interesting and unique characters, hear their stories and help them when they need it. You can make them happier by finding a place to stay, helping them find their dream job or giving them accessories and decorations.

Build the city of your dreams

Grow offers an impressive catalog of the cutest buildings and structures to create the city you want. Freely place them and customize them to make sure you feel right at home!

A beautiful soundtrack

Enjoy the music of game and anime composer Kevin Penkin. Kevin’s glorious soundtracks were nominated for a BAFTA award for Florence and won the Crunchyroll Awards for Made in Abyss and Tower of God

Mystery!

Ruins, caves, secret areas explore and reveal the long lost knowledge of Evertree by accessing its very heart.

Cheryl Vance, Game Designer at Prideful Sloth, shared the team’s vision for the game and its welcoming and free design philosophy:

With Grow, we wanted to create a game that gave the player the feeling of adding something to the world, rather than taking it away from them. This world is a giant garden, a place where you can take care of it and take care of it, guiding it in the direction you want it to grow. We give you the ability to create and customize your gaming experience; to make you determine the pace at which you do it. If you find a cave and get distracted from your current goal, that’s fine! If you want to befriend as many creatures as possible, that’s fine too. You are encouraged to play however you want, without penalty or pressure.

Grow: Song of the Evertree will sprout on Nintendo Switch and all other major platforms later this year. The game is currently only available for wishlist on Steam, although Prideful Sloth and publisher 505 Games have partnered with #TeamTrees and Arbor Day Foundation to plant trees for each wishlist achieved on the platform. You can read all the details about their efforts on the games Steam page.
