Eighty-three Albany High School career and technical education (CTE) superstars were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on Friday.
The National Technical Honor Society is a nationwide nonprofit organization that honors the achievements of top CTE students, provides up to $ 300,000 in scholarships annually, and is committed to connecting education and industry to create a highly skilled workforce.
This is the first year that Albany High has taken part in the National Technical Honor Society. Students qualify for membership if they have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, focus on a CTE or major pathway, have one or more faculty recommendations, and participate in work-based learning, job shadowing, or internship opportunities.
The following CTE paths are represented in this year’s candidate pool: Barber, Business Administration, Construction, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Health Sciences, and Pre-engineering.
