The Forgotten City, the title of The Forgotten City, developer Modern Storyteller will be released next month. Having originated as a mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the project has been downloaded and played by millions of players and has even managed to win a couple of awards for its premise. To this end, Modern Storyteller has decided to make it its own standalone IP.
Set in a secluded and isolated settlement during the Roman Empire era, present day players must escape a past time cycle whose repeating cycle is initiated when something called “The Golden Rule” is broken. The rule is that none of its civilians can commit any sin, otherwise they are punished by being turned to gold by an unknown and omnipresent god. The truth behind the setting, as well as the hidden intentions and mutual connections of some of its citizens, also plays a vital role in this predominantly dialogue-focused investigative title. The Forgotten City will be released for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and PC on July 28th.
