Fans are still eagerly awaiting a release date for the next Elder Scrolls 6 game. The good news is we know it’s coming. The bad news? It will take a while longer. Here’s everything we know so far.
A release date is so far off that any speculation about when it will be will be little more than a guess. What we can say with a high degree of certainty is that we will not see Elder Scrolls 6 before 2022.

However, we have an official teaser trailer that has been released for Skyrim’s eventual successor. Shared at E3 2018, it arrived with the caption: “Currently in pre-production at Bethesda Game Studios, the acclaimed developers of Skyrim and Fallout 4.
The highly anticipated next chapter in the iconic The Elder Scrolls series. ” Visually, this is the only evidence we have received from BGS on TES: VI.
Elder Scrolls 6 release date
It is unlikely that we will see the latest installment soon. That’s because Bethesda’s other big RPG project, Starfield, will arrive first. “Starfield is a game we’ve been thinking about and working on for years, something we feel uniquely positioned to make and we’re incredibly excited about,” said Bethesda’s Todd Howard at E3 2018.
While Starfield is naturally Bethesda’s short-term goal, Howard is clearly aware that the Elder Scrolls series is their most popular title. “We’re also building towards the game after that and that’s what you keep asking about,” Howard said, while clearly hinting at TES6.
Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Bethesda is also making PlayStation users anxious to know if future TES games will be available to them due to a recent blog post.
Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox said: “With the addition of Bethesda’s creative teams, gamers should know that Xbox, PC and Game Pass consoles will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that be exclusive to Xbox and PC players. “
Todd Howard Interview 2020
On November 2, 2020, Todd Howard starred in an interview detailing his story, titled “Going Nuclear: The Story of Todd Howard & Bethesda” in which he touches on fantastic information that will be important for The Elder’s release. Scrolls 6: the Creation Engine.
Reddit user KATheHuman details all the information fans of the upcoming RPG would be interested in that Howard talks about during his one-hour interview.
Engine updates heavily involve procedural generation, but not in how everyone’s game will be different, however. Used to create unique and expansive landscapes, it’s an upgrade not seen since the jump between Morrowind and Oblivion.
ZeniMax ZeniMax Online Studios continue to constantly update The Elder Scrolls Online.
Visually, we have seen little or nothing of the world of Elder Scrolls 6. However, a recent leak claiming to be a preview of TES VI gameplay could potentially change that.
While unconfirmed, the leak shows a beautiful, lush landscape filled with rolling hills and valleys in the distance – a huge graphical upgrade from what players have become accustomed to with Skyrim’s decade-long graphics.
The video taken from a 4chan leak could be the Elder Scrolls 6 map test from ElderScrolls
On the left side of the video, a piece of text reads “ES-VIRF alpha test”, which stands for ‘Elder Scrolls VI Redfall’. While this loss will likely be nothing more than a dead end, real or not, it’s undoubtedly exciting to think about what the new title might look like.
While no exact location has been confirmed, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about every new piece of information. The main theory for now comes from the Starfield teaser premiered at E3 2021.
During the short cutscene, players were given their first glimpse of Bethesda’s upcoming sci-fi epic. However, a frame-by-frame analysis may have suggested our position for TES VI.
After analyzing every second of the trailer, Reddit user “Huhwtfbleh” noticed something etched into a panel on the main character’s ship. This tiny sign appears to be a landmark, reminiscent of the Hammerfell from the Elder Scrolls series.
Bethesda This easter egg was spotted in the 2021 Starfield trailer.
This huge location, southwest of Skyrim, features vast deserts and sprawling mountain ranges. It’s also close to High Rock, a familiar region we’ve seen in multiple titles before.
Of course, the engraving in Starfield could just be a small Easter egg and nothing more. Although it certainly has some weight considering the hype around TES VI.
NPCs and settlements
Interestingly, something that will be very exciting for the future iteration of the TES series is Todd’s indication that NPCs are more integral to their stories. This goes hand in hand with him saying that settlements and cities will be bigger and more expansive. All of this seems to point towards a more immersive RPG experience.
“The gap in between [Elder Scrolls games] it will be long, it already is, “Howard said in an interview with IGN.
“On the one hand, I think it’s nice to lose things. I think this makes people come to it with really, really new eyes, and I think when they finally, eventually, see the game and what we have in mind, they will understand more of the gap in terms of technology and what we want to do. . “
It’s been 9 years since The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim was released … TES release story
Skyrim came out somehow shockingly way back in 2011 (how time flies). This is already the longest that fans have had to wait for a new Elder Scrolls game. When it comes out, we’re waiting 13 or 14 years.
Here are the years of release of the previous five Elder Scrolls titles:
I: Arena – 1994 II: Daggerfall – 1996 III: Morrowind – 2002 IV: Oblivion – 2006 V: Skyrim – 2011
It looks like The Elder Scrolls VI game will eclipse a six-year wait between Daggerfall and Morrowind. The question is, will the currently untitled sixth game be worth the wait? In the eyes of those who have played previous games, it may not be necessary to answer.
