OkCupid dating app on Tuesday launched the “I am vaccinated” badge on its platform, which would allow online dating employers in India to announce their vaccination status on their profile and also join the vaccinated stack which helps them match. with like-minded love interests they’ve taken the hit.
OkCupid said it saw a whopping 763% increase in conversations between March and June 2021 about Covid-19 vaccines and its relevance to daters when selecting a match for themselves.
When a user activates the vaccination status on the app, the “I am vaccinated” badge appears in the profile and should result in a 35% increase in the match rate with others who are vaccinated or are getting vaccinated soon, the company said.
For those who haven’t had a chance to get vaccinated yet but are open, OkCupid will also help with medically verified information to encourage them to get the vaccine, he added.
“Since vaccination is the most important point of the conversation today, we have felt a responsibility to help daters who have vaccinated themselves or want to get vaccine matched with others who believe the same as it is a health and safety issue.
So to make it easier for our users to find a potential match who believes in the benefit of being vaccinated, we have introduced the ‘I’m vaccinated’ badge and stack as an attempt to help people make informed decisions, especially in their quest for love. “OkCupid marketing director Anukool Kumar said in a statement.
To further understand how the vaccine affects millennials’ dating lives, OkCupid conducted a survey of its users. People who answered affirmatively (69 percent men and 71 percent women) to the question “will you get the Covid-19 vaccine” received 25 percent more likes and generated a much higher number of conversations than to those who answered no (15 percent men and 13 percent women).
Women were more cautious, with over 41% of consumers saying anti-vaccinists aren’t even a consideration for them as a potential partner. About 45% of women said they would cancel their appointment if their potential partner objects to the idea of getting vaccinated.
However, it is interesting to note that around 69 percent of the men were very willing to date someone who would not have also taken the vaccine.

Last month, the UK and US governments also partnered with major dating sites like Tinder, Match, Hinge, Bumble, Badoo, Plenty of Fish, OurTime, Muzmatch, OkCupid, BLK and Chispa, to encourage more young people to come forward for vaccination.
