Bumble recently introduced its new Night In feature aimed at virtual dating. The feature will allow two Bumble games to experience interactive games in a one-on-one video chat. The new feature is set to help potential couples meet virtually and have fun together in case they can’t meet in real life due to current circumstances.
Here’s how the new feature will work
After two people have matched up, they have the option to join a new virtual date through Night In by clicking on the icon within the chat message. After opting for this feature, both parties will receive notifications within the app for the video date.
Once both people are inside their virtual arcade, they will be presented with a virtual game and an explanation of the rules. Bumble will offer trivia at launch, and the company plans to expand this feature with new gaming options and virtual experiences in the near future.
New video notes feature
Bumble had launched the audio notes feature last year, and the app now adds a new video notes feature as well. The addition allows people to exchange quick videos directly in chat to help break the ice and build deeper conversations.
People can choose to add five Snapchat lenses to their video notes, including Mood, Reactions, and Ears / Foxtail. Users can also change the background of video calls and choose from options such as a picnic in Paris, a gondola ride in Venice, and a bonfire under the stars, among others.
These 360-degree backgrounds will mimic being together in real life and react to your movement. AR wallpapers will be available in Bumbles’ existing video call feature, allowing people to make their video calls more exciting to start conversations.
