It appears that the developer of Dishonored Arkane has been helped with his exciting new vampire game Redfall from another Bethesda / Microsoft studio, veteran FPS developer id Software, who may have some time to spare now that the latest expansion for Doom Eternal it’s been published.
Redfall was one of the big surprises revealed at Xbox and Bethesda’s E3 conference earlier this month, which is a new open-world co-op FPS from the same team behind Prey and Dishonored, separate from the Arkane team currently working on Deathloop, which will be released this September. Being an FPS under the Bethesda label, it seems reasonable for id Software members to lend a hand, although previously id only helped studios working on their own franchises, such as Avalanche with Rage 2. He didn’t even help out with Wolfenstein, even though Arkane made the last Youngblood game.
News of id Software’s help with Redfall comes via LinkedIn, where id animator Jeff Senita revealed that he was currently working on “additional animation” for Redfall. This information has since been removed, although not before the Internet noticed and took it.
There are many things we still don’t know about Redfall. Players can reportedly expect Arkane’s signature gameplay to be at the forefront despite being a cooperative game, so don’t expect id Software to have a huge hand in game development despite the studio’s experience with FPS games.

Predictably Redfall will be an Xbox and PC exclusive very similar to Starfield, and probably whatever id Software is preparing as well, but don’t expect to hear much about the game until we get closer to the tentative release date of Summer 2022. The Arkane Deathloop’s next game, however, will be out this September, unless it escapes again, which it has done several times.
