Kojima and Xbox may soon sign a deal for a new game according to an industry expert

Industry insider Jeff Grubb said Kojima Productions and Xbox are in the final stages of signing a deal for a new game.

So what would a new game from Kojima Productions look like? It is always a risk to speculate on what the famous director will come up with, as we know he likes to joke with our minds. However, according to GamesBeats Jeff Grubb, Kojima and Xbox could be close to signing a deal for a new game.

As GameRant noted, during Grubbs’ weekly GamesBeat Decides podcast, Grubb discussed that a deal between Kojima and Xbox is on the horizon. The topic emerged following an Xbox discussion involving Portal creator Kim Swift to help work on cloud gaming. Xbox previously announced that Swift would “partner with independent studios to create games for the cloud.” Coincidentally, Kojima has previously shown an interest in cloud gaming as a medium he would like to pursue.

This led co-host Mike Minati to ask Grubb about the alleged deal, to which he replied saying the deal was nearing completion, with only a few details left to iron out. “It won’t be signed,” he said, concluding that hell will be able to share more details very soon. Rumors about this deal have been running since April, when a Kojima Productions Ludens figure was spotted in the background of Xbox boss Phil Spencer live stream.

Kojima Studios recently announced that Death Stranding will soon receive a Director Cut. The announcement was made by Geoff Keighley and Hideo Kojima during the Summer Game Fest. The reveal video showed Sam Porter fiddling with a cardboard box, reminiscent of the Kojimas Metal Gear series. Based on the trailer, stealth missions could be a major addition to this version of the game.

While some people are waiting for the chance to partner with Kojima, some seem to be unable to escape him. The internet has collectively decided that Blue Box Game Studios Abandoned is actually Kojima’s secret marketing gimmick. The studio has even officially come out and said the project has nothing to do with the legendary director. Study head Hasan Kahraman said, no matter how hard I try to debunk all of this. People don’t believe it. They just expect something that’s not out there. It annoys me.
