Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is as close to perfect as a video game can be.
This Nintendo Switch launch title absolutely brought the new game system into its infancy and managed to rekindle the passion of many Zelda fans for the series by completely reinventing it.
While Zelda’s beloved formula was still fun to play, it was getting to the point where each title was becoming number by number, so Nintendo worked hard to carve out something new. Overall, this was a smash hit, but not all of the changes and additions were a home run.
With the hope that it will soon be renamed Breath of the Wild 2 coming up and the recent release of its jaw-dropping trailer, now is the perfect time to create a wish list of the things fans hope will become part of the game, and the features that they would like to see eliminated.
There’s no guarantee either of these will come true, but it’s safe to say that Nintendo is aware of some public complaints, so we can only hope they kept them in mind.
When it comes to picking out some of the best additions that debuted in Breath of the Wild, you’d be completely remiss to ignore paragliding.
Crossing the land of Hyrule has always been a pleasure, but soaring in the skies and watching the lush land like an eagle in flight has been a real treat.
So why not expand on this?
Breath of the Wild inherently focused on items, rewards, and discoveries, which made it so unique that players were never rewarded with a new glider. Sticking to the same swipe tool throughout the title was fine, but it felt like an outlier in a game so full of cycling inventories.
This is something the sequel should work on, and an easy way to do that would be to enter a new paraglider selection. One significant difference this would introduce is the simple cosmetics, as changing the design and colors could make for some nice visual changes. More importantly, however, players may be subjected to stat changes, such as faster speeds or increased dexterity.
Immortals Fenyx Rising has also introduced several sets of wings, so if a deliberate clone of Breath of the Wild can do it, Nintendo can too.
