Showdown shows its new DeSalle map, which is now available on test servers

Get ready for a new monster killing experience, as the long awaited third map for Cryteks Hunt: Showdown is now available on test servers. The DeSalle map is a big change for Hunt: Showdown as it features many more buildings and structures than previous maps, providing more verticality and opportunities for strategy. Previous teasers have shown construction sites, a dry dock, and an entire Wild West-style town, and the latest trailer offers a sneak peek at a lumber yard, mine, southern plantation, and more. Overall, Crytek promises that the map will contain 16 new compounds to explore and battle. Check out the latest trailer for the DeSalle map, below.

Crytek also recently released Hunt: Showdown Update 1.6 to test servers, which makes a number of matchmaking tweaks, rebalances various weapons, and more. Here are some details on these matchmaking changes

MMR stars and what they mean

The stars are a visual representation of the matchmaking rating (MMR) ranges. MMR is your personal Player Versus Player (PVP) score which can range from 0 to 5000. 1 star means you have a rating between 0-2000 and 6 stars means you are between 3000-5000. Most players are in the 2600-2800 range, which is a 35 star rating (but most players in this range are predominantly 4 stars).

MMR and post-match team details

With this update, we’re introducing a feature to provide more post-match information about the teams you are fighting with. This will allow you to compare your team’s rating (Match MMR) with that of others to get a better understanding of that group composition’s ratings and understand why a potentially more qualified player may end up on a team with a similar skill rating to yours (team rating and individual rating will be visible).

Hunt: Showdown is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4 and playable via backward compatibility on Xbox Series X / S and PS5. There’s no word yet when Update 1.6 and the DeSalle map will get a full release, but you can probably expect that in two to four weeks.
