While most of Respawn is working on Apex Legends, the studio’s community coordinator said the Titanfall franchise hasn’t been forgotten or abandoned and that there are still people working on the series, but apparently they’re just “one. or two people “.
This news comes after the recent events where Apex Legends was taken down by hackers trying to call attention to the sorry state of Titanfall 1 and 2, which regularly receives complaints from the community about the amount of cheaters in their games.
Community coordinator Jason Garza answered a question on his Youtube channel about the status of Titanfall and described it as “a whack-a-mole game”. He confirmed that Respawn is working to stop DDoS attacks, but he can’t go into too much detail because it will give hackers too much warning – and the reason it takes so long to fix is that most of the team’s resources are focused on. Apex Legends.
“The Titanfall community hasn’t been forgotten or abandoned or anything like that,” says Garza. “We’re still working on it, we just can’t wire our moves, and the thing is, we only have one or two people because everyone else is on Apex Legends, so don’t feel bad. It’s something we work on, it’s just these things take time, you can’t just push a button and everything magically adjusts.
Garza already talked about Titanfall 2 on Twitter in May, where he apologized for the game’s problems and confirmed that they are working on fixes. Respawn Entertainment doesn’t have unlimited resources, and Apex Legends’ extreme popularity combined with the constant problems of battle royale means it’s understandable that most studios focus on this. However, hopefully these issues will actually be solved with what is still one of the best FPS on PC.
