Double Fine responded to a comment on how to beat games on easy mode by confirming an invincibility switch for Psychonauts 2.

After so many years of waiting, Psychonauts 2 will finally be released in August. And while the game is likely to offer all sorts of mind-blowing challenges, the Double Fine study has confirmed the existence of an invincibility mode to make things a lot easier.

Confirmation came from Double Fine joining an Xbox Tweet about how beating games on the lowest difficulty still counts as beating them, despite some players trying to argue otherwise.

If you beat Psychonauts 2 with invincibility on, still beat P2, he writes.

An invincibility option is a welcome addition and lends itself well to subsequent plays, in case there is ever a particular moment you just want to pass by, as the main attraction of the game is its story and setting. rather than action.

Double Fine doesn’t go into specifics, but its wording suggests that this option will be available from the start, rather than something you need to unlock.

It makes perfect sense that Psychonauts 2 has such an option since the first game also had an invincibility cheat code, which you activated by pressing a few secret buttons. Although it looks like the sequel option will be much easier to access.

Hopefully, it also comes with similar cheats that you can perhaps unlock as you progress through the game. The first game had codes that could unlock all of Raz character’s psychic powers at once and grant full ammo for certain abilities.

Psychonauts 2 will be released on August 25 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X / S and PC.
