Tap the Discover icon and type a keyword in the search bar. If you remember the name of the filter that appears in the lower left of TikToks that is published with the effect, next to the icon of a magic wand which is very useful. Otherwise, type in any features you can remember, like cartoon or face zoom. If there’s an effect with that specific name, it’ll load first, followed by the best videos that have those terms tagged, then you can scroll through the thumbnails to find what you’re looking for.

If you see a video with an interesting filter, tap the filter name above the username to access the filters home page. There, you can see other videos that have used it and create a TikTok using that filter. If you like it, you can save it for later by tapping Add to Favorites. When you tap the Create Video button (the white plus sign in a black square in the center of the bottom menu), a preview page will open where you can try out a variety of TikTok filters. Just tap Effects to the left of the record button and scroll through the different tabs. You will see Trend, Pride, New, Green Screen, Interactive, Edit, Look, Funny, World, Animals, Music, Accessories and Atmosphere. To save the filters you want to try out, tap the bookmark mark at the bottom left of the screen while the filter is in preview mode and access when you’re ready by tapping the bookmark mark menu item before Trending.
