Providing services in central Shenzhen, covering 124 miles of public roads

FREMONT, Calif., July 19, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – DeepRoute.ai announced today that its robotaxi program is now available to the public, making it the first company to provide this type of service in Shenzhen. The vehicles have traveled 1 million miles safely in four different cities around the world and will cover approximately 124 miles of public roads in Shenzhen.

We have been testing our self-driving vehicles in Shenzhen for more than two years, said Xuan Liu, partner and vice president of DeepRoute.ai. We are excited to launch this program and look forward to gradually increasing the number of vehicles available and the operational areas covered.

DeepRoute is deploying 20 self-driving cars in the Central Business District of downtown Shenzhen and is the first company to be granted a permit to operate in the city. DeepRoute is serving over 100 collection and delivery points, including famous landmarks and COVID-19 vaccination centers.

Taxis are free and open to all over 18s through an application procedure on the official DeepRoutes WeChat account. Submissions will be reviewed and users will be sent an invitation code to activate the service.

DeepRoutes Level 4, the complete autonomous driving system incorporates every function within the autonomous driving technology, including sensing, HD mapping, localization, perception, planning and control, simulation and a cloud-based data platform. The robotaxi detects surrounding objects and predicts the trajectory of surrounding moving objects, bringing passengers to their destination smoothly and safely, even at night or on rainy days. The company can also remotely control its cars in the event of a malfunction that compromises safety, allowing total confidence and comfort for its passengers.
