Twitter is working on the feature to allow users to log in using the Google account

WASHINGTON Microblogging platform Twitter is planning to roll out a feature that will allow its users to access the platform via Google account.

Twitter currently offers its users the ability to choose between their email IDs and phone numbers to log in, followed by a password. But Twitter will soon allow users to log in via their Google account, according to a media report.

The feature has reportedly already been enabled on the Twitter beta app for Android users.

The beta version of the Twitter app currently allows users to sign in with Google as one of the options, but it is speculated that an additional option may be added for the iOS version of the app that will allow users to sign in with Apple accounts.

Twitter has not yet officially commented on the speculation. It’s unknown when these new sign-in options will roll out for users, but because it’s in beta, it may not be too long before users start seeing it on the main app, according to a media report.

“Twitter is working on integrating Google Sign-In,” tweetedtech blogger Jane Manchun Wong on June 25.

If a user is already part of the Twitter beta program, an updated version of the Twitter app “v9.3.0-beta.04”, which is implemented via the Google Play Store, can help enable the feature.

“The only downside to allowing Google to log in or using another service to log into Twitter is the possibility of a data breach on a service that could have an indirect impact on linked accounts,” one user tweeted.

Users wishing to participate in the Twitter beta cycle can sign up for the tester program. This will provide early access to some of Twitter’s testing features.

Twitter recently made several changes to the platform. She announced the end of Fleets, her disappearing story similar to that of Snapchat and Instagram. The function will end in August.

“We created Fleet as an ephemeral, low-pressure way for people to share their fleeting thoughts,” said Ilya Brown, Twitter’s vice president of product at ablog.

“We were hoping that Fleets would help more people feel comfortable joining the conversation on Twitter. But, since we introduced Fleets to everyone, we haven’t seen an increase in the number of new people joining the conversation with Fleets as we hoped. “

Twitter also recently announced a new feature that uses security keys as the only two-factor authentication method on its web and mobile logins to keep accounts safe and secure.
