According to the Clubhouse statement, “There has been no violation of Clubhouse. There is a series of bots generating billions of random phone numbers. In the event that any of these random numbers exist on our platform Due to a mathematical coincidence, Clubhouses API does not return any information that could identify the user. Privacy and security are of the utmost importance to Clubhouse and we continue to invest in leading security practices .

The cybersecurity expert shared a screenshot where he revealed that the hacker was planning to hold an auction of the leaked data on September 4, which also happens to be Google’s birthday.

As a reminder, it was only last week that Clubhouse announced it was dropping its invite-only system so that the audio chat platform would be open to everyone.
