Two new women have filed complaints against Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.
The women have filed their sexual assault allegations with the Houston Police Department, according to ESPN’s John Barr, and are not part of the trial which includes 22 women. However, according to Watson’s attorney Rusty Hardin, eight of the 22 women in the trial also filed charges with the Houston Police Department.
“There are 10 women who have complained to the police,” Hardin said.
Hardin says Watson and his legal team cooperated with the Houston Police Department and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
“We are dealing with both, providing them with information,” Hardin said. “We are fully cooperating with the police. We are fully cooperating with the District Attorney’s Office, and when the criminal investigation is completed, we will fully cooperate with the NFL.
The NFL, which is conducting its own investigation, has yet to speak with Watson, and Hardin says they will cooperate fully with the league when the time comes.
Watson showed up to the Texans for training camp on Sunday and in doing so avoids a fine of $ 50,000 a day.
The triple Pro Bowler requested a trade from the team in January and is still adamant about the request.
According to Hardin, the teams are interested in working with the Texans to acquire his client, even in the midst of the lawsuit and complaints filed with the police.
“The teams are ready to jump now if the Texans trade with them, even while this is all on hold,” Hardin said. “There is no doubt that teams, many teams, are always interested. The ball is in the Texans’ court.
