Former Bad Wolves band member Tommy Vext filed a lawsuit against ex-manager Allen Kovac, CEO of Better Noise Music, alleging his open support for Trump and various social media posts forced him to quit the band , as reported by TMZ on Monday afternoon (July 26). Additionally, Vext claims Kovac is known to throw the N word behind the scenes.

“For several years, I devoted all my energy and my passion to the creation of Bad Wolves. We’ve been around the world several times and recorded 6 number 1 singles on the scoreboard, ”said Vext. “All the while I have had to endure derogatory, manipulative and at times racist misconduct from my former manager Allen Kovak and his record label Better Noise Music.

He added: “Allen forced me out of my own group and is now trying to slander and cancel me. After several unsuccessful attempts at an amicable settlement, I am now forced to hand this over to the police. justice.

In response, Kovac issued a statement covering both the trial and the allegations. I’m disappointed to see these accusations by Tommy against me, 10th Street Management and Better Noise Music. They are categorically wrong. In 40 years in the music business, I have never made derogatory racist comments, or been accused of doing so, or been sued by an artist, ”he said. “Tommy Vext, a self-proclaimed supporter of QAnon, has drawn us into a ridiculous and baseless tale that falsely portrays him as a victim.”

Kovac continues, noting that Vext voluntarily left the group in January 2021 after “being abusive towards members of his group. He has since launched a general assault on the group and its members on social media. Behind the scenes, he and his team of lawyers attempted to extort the band and the record company for a big gain. Because these tactics weren’t successful, he stepped up and filed this bogus and spurious lawsuit to gain leverage in contract negotiations.

“But this strategic ploy won’t work. We will not be extorted; and will defend and reject these bogus claims in court. As a management company and record label, we pride ourselves on working with artists from all walks of life and encourage them to express themselves creatively and authentically, ”adds Kovac. “I have never imposed any political beliefs or values on any of our artists or employees, but I also will not tolerate when people create a hostile environment. Bad Wolves has always been a collaborative effort between its members, management and our label, and no member is responsible for the creation of its art or its success. That distraction aside, Bad Wolves continues to focus on his music and will release their best record yet in October with new lead vocalist Daniel ‘DL’ Laskiewicz. I am very proud of the group.

John Boecklin, the band’s co-founder and drummer, and Doc Coyle (guitarist) corroborate their own claim: In all of our dealings with Allen Kovac, he never used derogatory racist slurs. Tommy makes it all up. Period.

After Vext left the group, Daniel DL Lasckiewicz joined as the new lead singer. DL is a terrific songwriter and singer, and we can confidently say that the album we’re working on, titled Dear Monsters, is Bad Wolves’ best album to date, the band said of the change, as American Songwriter reported previously. DL is one of the most talented and hardworking people we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He’s a team player, a creative force and overall a great human being who fits our Bad Wolves family perfectly. It’s amazing to be surrounded by such positive energy and the music we’ve composed certainly reflects this new optimism and spirit of collaboration.

Bad Wolves will release their third studio album, Dear Monsters, later this year.
