Here’s proof that a licensed Blizzard developer Cosby Suite existed

As employees leave Activision Blizzard today over allegations of constant sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace and how uncomfortable they are with the company’s reaction, Kotaku released a report. backing up claims that a fired developer kept a hotel suite named after alleged rapist Bill Cosby.

In case you catch up, the state of California sued Blizzard for gender discrimination last week. The allegations include allegations specifically naming Alex Afrasiabi, the former senior creative director of World of Warcraft. The lawsuit says that in addition to sexually harassing women, Afrasiabi had a hotel room during BlizzCon 2013 dubbed the Cosby Suite and this suggested other employees were aware of it.

Neither the Kotakus report nor the California lawsuit say anyone was sexually assaulted specifically in the Cosby sequel, but it’s increasingly clear that the sequel was a real thing. As you can see above, there’s a photo of alleged Blizzard developers literally holding up a framed photo of Bill Cosby. Kotaku says the sequel was a hot spot for informal networking at BlizzCon … where people looking to make inroads into the business would meet and hang out with some of its top designers. A source told Kotaku the original intent was not sexual saying it was a reference to Cosby’s iconic ugly sweaters, but Cosby had previously faced multiple sexual assault charges in the past. period and other sources apparently understood it as a reference to them.

Kotaku says he has a Facebook album full of photos from the sequel, sexual comments, screenshots of an alleged conversation with several named Blizzard developers identifying themselves as the BlizzCon Cosby Crew, and sources attesting to the existence of a boys’ club there. A former Blizzard designer reportedly boasted in comments about collecting the hot chixx for the Coz.

It’s unclear how close the BlizzCon Cosby Crews statements were meant to be, but Activision Blizzard confirmed to Kotaku that it had terminated Afrasiabi after being made aware of the allegations of complaints last month. This is something the company had not disclosed publicly before.
