Congressman Kevin McCarthy slams US mask rule blaming India study, called jerk by Nancy Pelosi

Kevin McCarthy has spoken out against a proposal to reinstate a mask mandate in the House of Representatives.

Washington:

A senior Republican leader slammed the ruling Democratic Party and the Center for Disease Prevention and Control for reimposing a mask mandate for people vaccinated under certain circumstances, alleging the latest regulations are based on Indian data.

Congressman Kevin McCarthy, House Minority Leader, spoke against a bill that proposed to reinstate a mask mandate in the House of Representatives.

He alleged that the latest recommendations from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) are based on a report that has yet to be released.

The Republican leader, however, did not elaborate on the report.

Referring to a conversation he had with an intern doctor, McCarthy said the report “was based on India about a vaccine that is not approved in America.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi criticized the Leader of the Opposition and described him as “a jerk”.

However, McCarthy claimed that the Indian report “did not even pass peer review.”

“The mask’s mandate is based on a study in India, based on a vaccine that is not approved in America and has not passed peer review. Could this be a plan to keep our schools closed? ” He asked.

His Republican colleague, Congressman Dan Crenshaw joined him on social media to support him.

“Here’s the truth, America: The ‘game-changing’ data the CDC used for the mask mandate comes from a single Indian study. The study was dismissed in a peer review. But the CDC used it anyway. Remember what I said about public health officials losing our trust? It’s getting worse, “he said on Twitter.
