Count on fans react to the cancellation: don’t blame Josh Duggar!

It may have taken a while.

In the eyes of many, it may have taken too long.

But TLC finally made the only decision it was able to make a few weeks ago.

The network canceled the account after 11 seasons.

“TLC will not be creating an additional season for the account,” the executives said in a statement Tuesday, June 29, two months after Josh Duggar’s arrest for possession of child pornography.

“TLC believes it is important to give the Daggers the opportunity to personally deal with their situation,” added the producer, explicitly mentioning this nasty scandal.

Of course, Josh Duggar was arrested by a federal agent in late April after he allegedly downloaded sexual graphics for an underage child from his work computer.

The six fathers have been acquitted and will be tried in November.

In 2015, Josh confessed that he assaulted his sister and cheated on his wife as a teenager and urged TLC to cancel the count with 19 children.

So of course TLC disconnected this second case for the same reason, right?

Is it because Josh Duggar has nothing to do with the person he’s associated with?

By mistake, some believe it.

“It’s very boring to trust it,” one Reddit user recently wrote.

“Nothing exciting is happening. You can see many different people get pregnant and give birth to babies.

“I think the show was about to be canceled with or without Josh.”

Perhaps. Probably. We’ll never really know.

But what about reality TV shows like this is that the cost of producing them is very low.

At such a low cost, the network can still benefit even if the reputation begins to decline. So why can a franchise like Teen Mom continue to air for over a decade? A sharp drop in the number of viewers.

Meanwhile, another social media user blamed the cancellation of “covid and courtship / marriage and the lack of babies occurring in essentially the same time frame in 2020”.

We guess, but didn’t covid just give the family more time to stay home and have unprotected sex?

In another memo?

“Reliability was potentially ruined,” posted another viewer. “If this was a really honest show … it might have been interesting … to see these girls adjusting to be new wives and new parents.”

Yes it is. sure.

But it is very. To be honest, we would have seen a brainwashed young woman taken to a cult and forced to focus only on housework and reproduction.

We somehow suspect that Jim Bob Dagger would never have granted such access.

Most of the cast seem pretty happy with the decision, triggered by the show’s setbacks.

“We are grateful that TLC has given us the opportunity to join their network for many years and their kindness to the Vuolo family,” Zinger Dagger and her husband said in a statement.

“It was an incredible journey that opened the door for us to travel and experience the world in ways we never imagined.”

They added:

“We sincerely agree with TLC’s decision not to update Counting On.

“”[We] We are excited about the next chapter of our life. We want to thank our fans, friends and our amazing film crew for showing us their love and support. “

“We look forward to continuing our creative journey in Los Angeles and seeing what the future holds.”

Jim Bob, for his part, hints at something like a spin-off with his prepared statement.

“We have the incredible honor to share our lives, our faith and our stories with you since we started filming long ago, the most our family has ever faced. This includes some of the difficult and painful times, ”writes the cult leader.

“We are deeply grateful for the love we have shown and the prayers of the many people who have supported us now and for years …

“We look forward to all the new adventures and endeavors that we may come up with, and with so many grown children and wonderful grandchildren, our love will only grow. We know.”
