The allegation emerged after the Crows’ reserves game against North Adelaide in SANFL on July 17.

It is understood that the allegation concerns a comment about North Adelaide player Robbie Young, an aboriginal man who played for AFL St Kilda.

Walker did not play in the reserves game but spoke to the Crows players in quarter time.

In a statement, the AFL said it “strongly condemns racial defamation in the football community and in the community at large.

“If there is a complaint under the Peek Rule, it is subject to strict confidentiality throughout the process and no public comment can be provided until a process is completed.”

North Adelaide Football Club general manager Greg Edwards said the club supported Robbie Young.

“We weren’t aware of it until yesterday,” Mr. Edwards said.

“We contacted Robbie and he didn’t know either.

“We told him if anything should happen he has our full support like any of our players.”
