Meghan McCain says criticism of Ron DeSantis increases his presidential chances (video)

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson admitted this week that he regretted signing the bill banning state and local mask warrants, and hosts at The View are in awe of his honesty. But Meghan McCain still believes Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is taking advantage of not reversing his decision to do the same, and the words of critics condemning him for it.

He’s such a target for the left right now. Everyone should keep attacking him because it just makes him more powerful and more likely to be the presidential candidate, McCain said Thursday on The View of DeSantis. He knows what he’s doing. Much of his popularity has to do with the way he handled mask mandates and freedoms and opened up Florida beaches.

McCain added that she didn’t hope the cases would continue to rise, or that the growing variants would prove to be even more problematic than the original COVID virus. She also reiterated that she encouraged people to get fully vaccinated and that she herself had been fully vaccinated for months now.

The View women’s panel collectively praised Hutchinson for admitting he was wrong, after seeing the inevitable spike in cases as a result of the measure.

Looking back, I wish this hadn’t become law, Hutchinson said at a press conference on Tuesday. But it is the law, and the only chance we have is to either change it or have the courts say it has an unconstitutional basis.

Meghan McCains’ last day on The View is scheduled for Friday, August 6. You can watch the full segment of The View in the video above.
