Psaki grilled on Cuomo, Biden’s sexual harassment allegations say complaints against President have already been taken to court

White House press secretary Jen Psaki pushed back questions about sexual misconduct allegations made against President Biden on Wednesday following the Commander-in-Chief’s decision to call New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign following an investigation into the harassment.

“Should there be an independent investigation into the allegations about the president like there were about Governor Cuomo?” New York Post reporter Steven Nelson asked Psaki, after summarizing a number of allegations that surfaced against Biden during the 2020 campaign.

“The president was clear and frank about the importance of women being respected, having their voices heard and being able to tell their stories and people treat them with respect,” Psaki replied.

She said it was still the president’s policy.

“This was strongly contested during the campaign,” added Psaki. “I understand that you are anxious to come back to this, but I have nothing more than to repeat that he called for the governor’s resignation.”

Nelson brought up Tara Reades’ allegation of sexual assault in 1993, which the president denied, as well as accusations by Secret Service agents that Biden scantily plunged in front of them, and The New York Times and the Washington Post reporting women “who objected to the way President Biden touched them.”

After the press conference, Reade in an interview with the Daily Caller took issue with Psakis’ characterization that his claims had been “contentious during the campaign”.

“There was no litigation,” Reade told the outlet. “There has been no investigation. It is a lie. It is misleading the public.”

She told the appellant that Psaki should retract.

Psakis’ office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.

During the White House press briefing, she said the president had no plans to call Cuomo and ask him to step down amid his own allegations of sexual harassment. But she reiterated that Biden had previously publicly called on Cuomo to step down.

“The president made it clear because of the heinous allegations… that it was time for Governor Cuomo to step down,” she said.

A report released Tuesday by the New York attorney general’s office found that the governor sexually harassed 11 women between 2013 and 2020.

Cuomo’s accuser Lindsey Boylan expressed support for Reade, tweeting months before she presented allegations against the governor that Reade’s story is “compelling, credible and deeply disturbing.”
