Jesse Arthur Stockman, 32, was arrested in connection with the attack on a house where he and the victim lived in the 2400 block of Old Sonoma Road, Police Sgt. Nick Dalessi reported. He was incarcerated in Napa County Jail on charges of the felony of assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and domestic violence.
Officers who were called to the disturbance at 2:24 a.m. found the woman bleeding in the face and learned that Stockman punched her and then kicked her in the head after she fell, according to Dalessi. When the woman tried to flee the house, Stockman threatened to kill her, picked up a baseball bat and hit her about five times on the arms as she covered her face, Dalessi added.
The woman was treated at Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center and released, and a judge granted her a protection order, according to Dalessi.
About seven hours after the attack, officers looking for Stockman learned that he had returned to the Old Sonoma Road home. As police approached the front door, Stockman attempted to escape from the rear, but was forced back inside when Napa County Sheriff’s Deputies helping police put up a perimeter behind the house, said Dalessi.
