Koku Anyidoho is a former deputy general secretary of the NDC
Koku Anyidoho’s feud with former boss continues
He claims secretary general should be charged with anti-party conduct
The charge relates to the Assin North primaries where an “ineligible” candidate was allowed to run on the party ticket
Koku Anyidoho has alleged that a secretary general of the opposition Democratic National Congress, NDC, is to be blamed for allowing a “foreigner” to contest a parliamentary primary.
The former presidential spokesman did not mention which secretary general he was referring to – be it the scribe at the national, regional or constituency level.
“What could be more anti-party than a secretary general unilaterally rejecting a petition concerning dual nationality and allowing a ‘foreigner’ to win primaries only so that the party is on the verge of losing a seat in Parliament? »Read his tweet of August 7, 2021.
Anyidoho’s tweet post, however, must be safely linked to issues in the Assin North constituency, where a Cape Coast High Court has ordered Member of Parliament James Gyakye Quayson to refrain from considering himself like a legislator.
In the court’s verdict on a petition against the MP, the presiding judge agreed that Quayson was not qualified to contest the election because at the time of his candidacy he had dual citizenship.
The troubled MP has since appealed the decision and continues to exercise his parliamentary duties pending hearing of his appeal.
Anyidoho’s reference to anti-party conduct relates to terminology the NDC has used in recent months to expel three popular members – himself, Allotey Jacobs and Stephen Atubiga.
