Last week tonight with John Oliver on Sunday, Oliver slammed New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for facing multiple sexual harassment allegations which he denies. Following a report from New York Attorney General Letitia James detailing the charges, Cuomo released a video that shows him kissing and kissing multiple people in an apparent attempt to show that it is As he is. It was not well received.
The New York AG released a devastating report into (its) investigation into Andrew Cuomo’s allegations of sexual harassment that he is, incredibly, trying to overcome, Oliver said, posting a video in which he tried to deny or to minimize the charges.
After showing part of the video, which Cuomo recounted, saying things like, I kiss people on the forehead. I kiss people on the cheek, said Oliver, okay, but that’s not what it is.
As more and more of Cuomo’s accusers come out with damning accusations, which clearly go far beyond anything shown in the video, Oliver was shocked that Cuomo thought the video was a sufficient defense.
It’s frankly unbelievable that Cuomo thought posting an irrelevant photo montage would somehow exonerate him, Oliver said. Apparently his strategy for literally any crisis is to create a PowerPoint, and that’s it.
Last Week Tonight With John Oliver airs Sundays at 11 p.m. on HBO.
