Time’s Up boss Roberta Kaplan quits after criticism of Andrew Cuomo’s ties

NEW YORK (AP) Times Up executive Roberta Kaplan has resigned amid the fallout from her work advising Governor Andrew Cuomo on allegations of sexual harassment.

The New York Times reports that Kaplan cited his work advising Cuomo and his former senior assistant, Melissa DeRosa, in connection with the attorney general’s investigation.

She wrote in her resignation letter that she reluctantly came to the conclusion that an active practice of law is no longer compatible with serving on the Times Up board at this time.

Kaplan was chairman of the board of Times Up and co-founder of the Times Up Legal Defense Fund, which helps women who experience sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace.

Kaplans’ resignation comes a day after DeRosa announced in a statement that she would step down as Cuomo’s main employee.

The resignations come about a week after a report from the New York attorney general found the governor sexually harassed 11 women.

Cuomo denied ever touching anyone inappropriately, but admitted hugging and kissing assistants and others.
