Amanda Owen from our Yorkshire farm hits back at fan criticism of Clive

Our Yorkshire Farm Shepherdess Amanda Owen has revealed why she hides her husband from social media.

With 383,000 subscribers on Instagram, the mother of nine children often shares her habits on the farm.

In her photographs, she captures the animals, her children, her friends and a few selfies – but her husband Clive Owen is missing.

Amanda’s husband doesn’t have his own online accounts – leaving fans wondering why he’d rather stay out of the spotlight.

His glamorous farmer wife revealed that the reason is because Clive “hates” social media and therefore requested not to appear in any of his photographs.

She explained to Twitter her reasoning after sharing snaps of herself having her hair cut at a local salon, as followers wondered where Clive was.

One follower asked him, “How come we never see pictures of Clive, it’s time for him to have a makeover too, he really deserves it.”

Amanda then explained, “He hates social media and online news and doesn’t want to be a part of it. It’s his choice.”

The couple have been married for 21 years after meeting in 1996 – and now share nine children together at Ravenseat Farm.

But it wasn’t love at first sight, and Amanda was only 21 when she met her future husband.

She told the Poet Laureate Has Gone To His Shed podcast that their relationship was a “slow burn” as they started out as friends.

She said: ‘It was a friendship we built, I was there to take a tup because I was milking cows in Cumbria and I came to borrow one.

So I went to Ravenseat, borrowed a tup, then left. We just exchanged phone numbers and that was the start of the friendship.

The friendship lasted four years. So it was a slow-burning thing. “

After four years together, the couple married in 2000 and had their nine children, 1,000 sheep, 40 cows, six dogs and four horses.

Amanda recently revealed how her ninth pregnancy, along with her now four-year-old daughter Nancy, took her totally by surprise.
