When asked about the charges against the Duke of York on LBC, the Metropolitan Police Chief said a review of Jeffrey Epstein’s allegations was underway but no investigation was underway.

Dame Cressida Dick said she did not want to talk about individuals but insisted that “no one is above the law” when discussing the allegations against Prince Andrew.

The Met has carried out two previous reviews of the allegations of six women, who came forward accusing GhislaineMaxwell and the late financier, Jeffrey Epstein, of aggravated sexual assault in the UK in the 1990s and 2000s.

In 2016, Scotland Yard looked into the allegations of Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who claimed she had been trafficked in London and that Epstein and Ms Maxwell had pressured her to have sex with Prince Andrew .

The Duke of York, who vigorously denies the allegations against him, is now being sued by Ms Giuffre for sexually assaulting her as a minor.

Ms. Giuffre, victim of Jeffrey Epstein, filed a complaint against Prince Andrew in New York on Monday.
