Suicide Squad’s Joel Kinnaman investigated rape allegations

Suicide Squad star Joel Kinnaman is under investigation by Swedish authorities after a rape allegation was brought against the actor.

Kinnaman, who played Worlds of DC’s anti-hero Rick Flag in both David Ayer’s Suicide Squad and the James Gunn reboot, made a statement ahead of the investigation’s announcement, calling the allegations “manufactured”.

A spokesperson for the Swedish public prosecutor’s office told E! News that a prosecutor is awaiting further information before making a decision on the allegations.

In light of allegations made by a woman, believed to be a Swedish model, a lawyer for Kinnaman suggested the complaint was filed after the actor sought a restraining order against him.

“Mr. Kinnaman will cooperate with the police to clear his name,” they added, after Kinnaman denied the allegations in a separate statement shared on Instagram.

Explaining why he filed an injunction against the alleged victim, the actor told fans that he and his family had suffered threats and had been the victim of extortion.

“Earlier this morning, I filed for a restraining order against a woman who threatened to physically injure me, my family and loved ones, and who attempted to extort money and other items from me. of value, ”the social media post read.
