Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer – already on administrative leave from Major League Baseball following allegations of sexual misconduct – received a temporary protective order last year after allegedly physically assaulting a woman in the Ohio and uttering a death threat to him, according to The Washington Post.
According to sealed court records and other documents obtained by The Post, the woman says Bauer hit and strangled her without her consent while they were having sex. He also allegedly texted her from a phone number known to be registered with Bauer, saying he “didn’t feel like spending time in jail for killing someone”.
“And that’s what would happen if I saw you again,” Bauer wrote, according to the Post, prompting the woman to apply for the protective order in June 2020.
According to a police report obtained by the Post, the woman attempted in 2017 to show police photographs of eye injuries, but was instead arrested for underage drinking. The Post, which did not disclose the woman’s age, obtained photographs showing bruises on her face and blood in her eyes.
The police report did not indicate whether the woman’s allegations had been investigated, according to the Post.
Bauer tweeted Saturday to challenge the Post’s report, saying the newspaper was trying to create a “false story” by contacting friends and acquaintances.
“Although my representatives have provided a wealth of conflicting evidence, documents, statements and background information showing the disturbing behavior of this woman and her lawyers, the Washington Post chose to ignore much of this information and to publish a salacious story disseminating defamatory statements. , false information and baseless allegations, “Bauer wrote.
Bauer said the woman harassed and physically assaulted him and also attempted to “extort millions of dollars from me last year in return for refusing to make false allegations.”
Although I have allowed my representatives to speak on my behalf for the past six weeks, I can no longer remain silent. I will speak quite frankly about the current petition if it arises, but I must respond to the allegations made today in the Washington Post. pic.twitter.com/VhDNQyM1cb

Bauer’s attorney and agent Jon Fetterolf and agent Rachel Luba said in a statement that Bauer and the woman were in a consensual relationship from 2016 to 2019 and that she sued him, filing a “fake petition of protection “while” demanding $ 3.4 million for her to “remain silent.”
Officers also called the allegations of physical abuse “categorically false” in a statement to the Post. They said the photographs were several years old “without corroboration”, questioning both their validity and that of the alleged threatening messages.
The woman dropped the protective order six weeks after filing it, according to the Post.
“MLB takes these allegations and all allegations very seriously,” a league spokesperson said in a statement to The Post. The spokesperson did not comment further, citing the ongoing Bauer investigation.
Bauer has been on administrative leave since July 2 as investigators investigate allegations of sexual misconduct made by a California woman. Her leave, which has been extended five times, currently ends on Friday.
A civil hearing for the temporary restraining order that was obtained against Bauer by this woman is scheduled for Monday through Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
