Biden points to Afghanistan debacle after pledging he would not “blame others” President Biden appeared to renege on campaign pledge to “take responsibility” as commander-in-chief and not to “blame the others ”during his speech on the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan which saw the Taliban quickly regain control of the country and the outcome Biden had previously claimed was“ highly improbable ”.
Biden suggested on Monday that the withdrawal debacle was the result of the peace deal he had “inherited” from former President Donald Trump and claimed his only options were between “escalating the conflict and dismissal. thousands of American soldiers in Afghanistan “.
“I strongly support my decision. After 20 years, I have learned the hard way that there is never a good time to withdraw US forces,” Biden said. “That’s why we’re still here.”
Biden also singled out the Afghan army for its lack of “will to fight” for its future. And he said the slow evacuation of Afghan allies from the United States was partly due to the fact that “some Afghans did not want to leave sooner while being full of hope for their country.”
The comments contrast with then-candidate Biden’s pledge to do his “job and take responsibility” for his actions.
“It’s hard to believe it has to be said, but unlike this president, I will do my job and take my responsibilities,” Biden wrote in June 2020. “I won’t blame others. And I will never forget that the job isn’t about me, it’s about you. ” CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR TOP STORY.

United States to Recommend COVID-19 Vaccine Booster for All Americans: Reports Health officials in the United States should recommend a COVID-19 vaccine booster for all Americans eight months after receiving the second vaccine, according to reports information Monday evening.
News organizations, including the Associated Press and Reuters, first reported on the planned recall recommendation. The AP report, citing two people familiar with the matter, said the third dose would only be given after formal approval of the vaccines by the Food and Drug Administration.
The FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention did not immediately respond to an out-of-hours email from Fox News. The FDA has already extended the emergency use authorization for Pfizer-BioNTech and Modernas COVID-19 vaccines to allow a recall for certain immunocompromised patients.
Pfizer and BioNTech said Monday that a third dose is safe and elicits an antibody response at levels that “significantly exceed” those seen in people who receive two doses of the jab. CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT MORE.
