Ian Wright responds to Graeme Souness’ comments on Paul Pogba.
Ian Wright has denounced his ITV colleague Graeme Souness for his continued criticism of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Pogba provided four assists in his side’s 5-1 win over Leeds United on Saturday, becoming the seventh player to do so in Premier League history, but his performance was not enough to convince the critic longtime Souness.
Graeme Souness continues to criticize Pogba.
The Scotsman appeared on Sky Sports Super Sunday and said ‘we expect that from a £ 100million man’, stating that Mason Greenwood was in fact the star man for Man United in the outright victory.
The comment left Souness’ football fans and media colleagues wondering what exactly Pogba needs to do to prove his worth and Wright believes Souness just can’t help but criticize the Frenchman.
Souness “For me, the star of the show was Greenwood.”
Micah “Pogba had four assists.”

Ian Wright: “Souness can’t contain himself. ”
“Graeme Souness can’t contain himself,” ex-Arsenal said in the latest episode of his podcast Wrighty’s House. “Tell him why Pogba can’t do this every week?” No one can do it every week.
“But at the same time, you watch Pogba every week, he does enough, for me, in every game to influence a game in a major way.
“He was just wandering. Go play. It is in its sixth season. Let’s be totally honest, I don’t think I’ve seen it that well.
In the same conversation, Wright, who worked with Souness for ITV at Euro 2020, said: “I believe Pogba, if it’s his level, then Old Trafford is going to have a blast.”

Pogba linked to the move.
For much of his Man United career, Pogba has been linked with an estrangement from Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old’s contract expires next summer and recent reports suggest the club are considering offering him a new one which, if signed and honored, would mean Pogba will stay at the club until his 30s.
Conflicting reports have said, however, that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to sign Pogba on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer while offering him a huge salary, much like they did with Lionel. Messi, Sergio Ramos and Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer.
With United having started the season so well and Pogba looking to be having fun with an improved squad, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to end the saga once and for all.
